As of Friday, September 28, 2018, there were over 226,000 veterans and their family members awaiting payments and decisions on their GI Bill claims. This represents a 56.5% increase in pending workload as compared to this time last year. VA says that original GI Bill claims are taking more than a month to process, 35.9 days.
