As the start of Military Appreciation Month approaches on May 1, companies across the U.S. are gearing up to show their gratitude and support for the men and women who serve in the armed forces. From special events to charitable donations, these promotions aim to honor the sacrifices and dedication of military personnel and their families.

One of the most common promotions offered during Military Appreciation Month is discounts. But beyond those, we’re looking for companies that are launching or continuing charitable programs focused on service members and their families. These initiatives may involve donating a portion of proceeds from sales to military causes, organizing volunteer opportunities for employees to support veterans initiatives, or hosting special events and initiatives that support military and veteran-centric organizations.

For example, Soldiers’ Angels, a national nonprofit, has two campaigns planned for Military Appreciation Month: Go Camo and Honor Military Working Dogs, which will send most-requested items to deployed service members and working dogs, respectively. There’s also Starbucks: For every Starbucks eGift in their Military Appreciation category sold May 1-31, Starbucks will donate $5 to be shared evenly between Blue Star Families and Operation Gratitude to support the military community. The coffee chain will also support nearly 150 events and giveaways at various store locations across the country to celebrate military spouses.
